WHAT HAPPENED?
U.S. international Haji Wright found the net for the first time in nearly two months to help lead his side to a 3-0 win over Blackburn on Tuesday evening. The winger took his goal well, darting inside a defender before smashing the ball into the bottom corner past a wrong-footed goalkeeper. His strike helped take a struggling Coventry away from the relegation zone and up to 16th place.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Wright's goal comes at an opportune time for his national team hopes. New manager Mauricio Pochettino will have undoubtedly already picked his first USMNT squad – which is due to be announced tomorrow morning. But with more fixtures to come and a fresh face at the helm, Wright figures to have more chances to impress in the coming weeks – whether he is picked among the U.S.'s squad or not.

DID YOU KNOW?
Wright played a crucial role for Coventry as they made an unlikely FA Cup semifinal run last season. He scored 19 goals and added six assists in all competitions for the midlands side – including three in four starts in the FA Cup.

The winger's status in the USMNT squad remains unknown. But if he is named to Pochettino's setup, he will have a chance to feature in friendlies against Panama and Mexico in mid October. Before that, he is set to feature as Coventry take on Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
